When Brian McAllister pleaded guilty to the vehicular manslaughter of Bianca Butthole of Betty Blowtorch in September, and his sentencing date was set for 13 December, I knew I had to be there. A large part of me wanted to see Brian "pay" for what he had done (tho I knew no amount of jail time would make up for his actions). I wanted to be there for a vital part of this legacy. I wanted to say I was present for a piece of rock 'n' roll history-not for "fame" reasons, but because Bianca and Betty Blowtorch have come to mean that much to me. And when 13 December came around, I was there.
A few weeks before the scheduled sentencing date, Abbey and I had started to go through spells of anxiety. We were excited to be meeting Blare (N. Bitch-former guitarist of Betty Blowtorch, now of the Blare Bitch Project), Linda (Blare's friend), Victoria (Bianca's sister), Kelly Spencer (at Foodchain Records), and whoever else might be there. At the same time, we felt bad for being excited because of why we were going. I tried to reassure myself that since Victoria had written "I can't wait to meet you two" and Blare had written that she was glad we were going to be there, that we were, in a way, invited.
Then we realised that it was destined that Bianca's parents were going to be there, and that only added to the apprehension.
